Monkey Spit, LLC has issued a recall for three varieties of its BBQ sauce due to undeclared allergens that could pose serious health risks to consumers with allergies. The affected products include:
- Monkey Mop BBQ Sauce – Contains undeclared milk (Best by: 11/07/2026A)
- Swamp Mob BBQ Sauce – Contains undeclared soy (Best by: 12/13/2025A)
- Atomic Mop BBQ Sauce – Contains undeclared milk and wheat (Best by: 03/19/2026D)
The recalled sauces were distributed through retail stores on California’s central coast. The affected product poses a serious risk for individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, as consuming it could lead to a life-threatening allergic reaction. Although no allergic reactions have been reported, Monkey Spit is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of consumers.
The recall was prompted by an FDA inspection that revealed the allergens were not properly disclosed on product labels, attributed to a temporary breakdown in the company’s packaging process. Production has been halted until the FDA and Monkey Spit confirm that the issue has been fully resolved.
Consumers should not consume, sell, or distribute these products. If you purchased the Monkey Spit Mop BBQ Sauce, dispose of it or return it to the store for a full refund.
