F&S Fresh Foods of Riverside, CA, is recalling its 22 oz. Mediterranean Inspired Party Trays. The recall follows notification that Grecian Delight Tzatziki sauce used in the trays may be contaminated with Salmonella due to cucumbers recalled by SunFed Produce, LLC.
SunFed’s recall was prompted after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) linked the cucumbers to reported salmonellosis illnesses occurring between October 12 and November 15, 2024. Other related cucumber recalls linked to SunFed include, Russ Davis Cucumbers , Marketside Cucumbers, Supreme Produce Cucumbers and Baloian Farms Cucumbers.
The Mediterranean Inspired Party Trays, sold at Ralph’s stores in California and Smith’s stores in Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming, are packaged in plastic clamshells with the dip in a separate lidded cup. Affected products are marked with codes “GH” followed by 325–339 and have sell-by dates ranging from 11/27/24 to 12/11/24. No illnesses have been reported so far.
Salmonella infections can result in severe illness, particularly in vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms, including fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, typically develop within 6 hours to 6 days after exposure and may last 4 to 7 days. Fortunately, no illnesses linked to the recalled products have been reported to date.
Consumers are advised not to consume, sell, or distribute the recalled cucumbers. Affected products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase for a refund. To prevent cross-contamination, thoroughly clean and sanitize any surfaces or utensils that may have come into contact with the cucumbers. If you have consumed the product and experience symptoms of salmonellosis, contact a healthcare provider immediately.
